Rudyard Kipling 1865-1936

Today we visited the NT house Batemans in Sussex where Rudyard Kipling lived. This statue is in the village nearby, we were surprised to hear it was only unveiled in 2019. The book alongside him is the Just So stories which he wrote when living there in 1902. He had written Jungle Book earlier in 1894.
It was a really nice house to visit, preserved as it was when Kipling lived there. The gardens were also nicely laid out and well maintained and also a small mill quite near the house.
Also see the extras.
Although it was a bit of a grey day we were surprised that there were so few people there. There was also a nice Easter trail for children.
