The Lookouts at Lepe Beach

To day we went to Lepe( pronounced Leep) beach and Park. This is the very nice restaurant where you can lookout over the sea and watch the sailing boats plus ferries going from Southampton to the Isle of Wight. We had nice coffee and cakes. It was very chilly despite the bright sun but good for kite flying.
There is a nice park with walks and a good children’s adventure playground.

Later we went to Bucklers Hard village which is very near the Beaulieu Motor museum and House. It was a centre for shipbuilding in the 16 and 7C and some of Nelson’s boats were built there. We visited the very interesting shipbuilding museum and a couple of cottages which have been preserved with furniture etc, from that era. See extra. It looks out onto tone Beaulieu River and you can take a boat trip along this with an interesting commentary about the place thorough the ages.
Although there are quite a few visitors it was not as busy as we had expected.
