Black not Red

A present from friends last year was a pack of heirloom tomatoes. The variety is Black Russian.

Little did I know then that the colour would feel right for the leader of the Russian State.

I was later than planned in sowing the seeds but some have germinated. I hope they survive the coming weeks and I look forward to tasting them. ( Apparently the colour is more dark mahogany brown). Time will tell.
