Newly planted strawberries

An allotment friend gave me 18 large strawberry runners yesterday as my strawberries never came up this year.

I planted them in my pallet bed, which will also have dwarf antirrhinum in the pallet planters by summer.

I dropped by the plot first thing this morning - to drop off compost, to enjoy a sunny walk round the plots, to get pots and compost for potting on my chili and pepper plants at home, and to see the tadpoles (I like seeing how they're doing every day!).

I was glad to see the new strawberries were firmly anchored into the soil. Sometimes when I plant out seedlings or plants, I find them dug up (muntjacs, foxes or birds?) the next day, which isn't great!
