WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

Happy Birthday!

Amelia is 10 today. Where have the years gone?
The collage shows her ecstatic about her new ice skate back pack, a new David Walliums book and reading the book that Lucy has written and illustrated for her over a few weeks. The Adventures of the Baird sisters.
She has had a wonderful day with 3 friends and a younger friend for Lucy to play with. It started out quite stressful mind you. Originally the plan was to take them to the cinema but Sabrina was unable to book the film they all wanted to see so then she said they would have a hot tub party. They were all thrilled at the prospect. However an hour before the party, Sabrina went to check the temperature and it was just lukewarm when it should have been 38°. Panic stations! Sabrina phoned John at his work and he sped home and ended up half emptying it and filling it with the hose pipe from the hot tap. In these days of high energy prices! He managed to get it hot enough and the girls arrived and had a great time. (Extra)
Two of the girls - sisters - were absolutely petrified of animals so we had to keep Millie (Cairn Terrier and soft as anything) and the two cats out of the way.

Amelia and one of her friends entertained us with a funky dance routine they had choreographed and been rehearsing for weeks on facetime.

Tonight we are all exhausted and girls get emotional when they are tired so we got them to bed at a reasonable time.

Happy Birthday Amelia!

The Birthday Girl is in double digits
she’s a decade old today!
10 years ago, she entered the world
 born on Easter Sunday.

Five pounds three, and so tiny
they named her Amelia Rose
too weak to feed the first few days
a tube down her tiny nose.

When she came home we were there
carrying out grandparent duties
feeding, burping and changing her
delighting in her delicate beauty

A delightful toddler and so funny
we’ve watched her grow and blossom
into a caring and talented young girl
bringing endless joy and then some.

Happy 10th Birthday Amelia!

Thanks so much for the comments, stars and hearts over the last week.
Goodnight Blippers :-)X

PS. After the girls went to bed we caught up on the news. Grim and very upsetting. My heart breaks for the Ukrainians :-(
