Exciting
No1 emailed ‘save the date’ invitations for next years’ wedding with a link to the wedding web site. No more embossed hand written cards, but slicker and more modern. The website has lots of photos and information about the event including places to stay. I prefer it but I am sure there will be a few folks who would prefer the old fashioned way.
We finished the painting today and while it was waiting to dry, drove to Tenterden where I had seen some cushions a few weeks ago. I didn’t buy them at the time (he who hesitates…… you snooze you loose…..!) and there were only three left. However they are large so that will be ok. Called into to see MIL and she was very frosty. Was it because we hadn’t seen her over the weekend or because I told her what I thought of her pathetic moans about the builder leaving some sand in her parking space (which she no longer uses) or just because she is 87 and old and crabby! OH spent a while telling her about our visit to the wedding venue and trying to get her excited about buying a new dress for her first grandchild’s wedding but she remained stony silent and didn’t ask any questions. How different it would be if my dear old mum was still alive - she would be so excited …….
My frustration is also at SIL who is a teacher on school holidays and is not visiting once during two weeks!!
Maybe she feels the same frustrations I do and has the excuse of living an hour and a half away?
