Embaire from Nakibembe, Uganda

At WWU tonight we attended a concert of African percussion played by Mark Stone and the WWU Percussion Ensemble lead by Pat Roulet. What a trip. Mark stone is an amazing musician. He played modern African music on an Array Mbira (a modern version of an Embaire), Gyil and traditional Embaire. Just wow. In the extra the traditional Embaire is on the left. The Array Mbira is on the right. Pat Roulet joined him in the second half for two pieces on Gyils. The concert ended with whole group playing on the huge group Embaire which was made for WWU by the musicians of Nakibembe, Uganda.
