April’s pile

A couple of disappointments in that selection but some great ones too.

Accidental Saints was brilliant. I’ve read so many Christian books where we just hear of the author’s wisdom and insight. This book was different in that it talks, at length, about the author’s mistakes and failures. It was just really refreshing. And whilst her own failures were evident, they weren’t just there for amusement or entertainment, but to point out the grace and love of God. I loved it.

Sorrow and Bliss was one of mum’s rejects but has since made it onto the shortlist for the Women’s Prize. Mum’s loss was my gain as I really enjoyed it.
