Now there is one

The reason for our trip to Knoydart was to walk up Ladhar Bheinn and its top, Stob a' Choire Odhair. These were our penultimate Munro and final Munro Top and we wanted good weather. Fortunately the promised weather window arrived and it was pleasantly warm with good views. We met a couple of guys that had been camping at Barrisdale and got talking as you do. They were brothers and it turns out I walked up my first Munro in the year the older one was born (1971), and S had started in the year the second one was born (1977). It was the older brother’s 50th Munro and the younger brother’s 38th Munro. There were a couple of tricky steps on the way from Mam Barrisdale but not too hard. The views were good and there was just enough bits of mist to add interest to the scene. The blip is looking at Ladhar Bheinn from Stob a' Choire Odhair, the first extra early mist on Luinne Bheinn and the second looking down the descent route from Stob a' Choire Odhair with Loch Hourn in the background. I think the top is probably the best of all the Munro tops with its spectacular position and narrow ridge but no real difficulties and a wonderful path out of the coire over to Barrisdale at the end. The only downside to this idyll are the large numbers of Ticks.
