Beacon

A trip into Glasgow for a concert on Friday evening.

I had recently come across a sculpture by Steuart Padwick elsewhere in the city centre and learned that it was one of three commissioned for the COP26 summit held in the city and that another was situated at Glasgow Central Station. So with some time on my hands before my train home (from Queen Street!) I headed over to have a peek.

Beacon of Hope was constructed from layers of Scottish-grown Sitka spruce and is quite an imposing figure.
