Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Saturday — City Wide

Today was the Annual City-Wide Yard Sale in Morro Bay. I wasn’t searching or hunting for any particular item. I just enjoy watching the community all come outdoors and rub shoulders in yards and garages as we each look at “stuff” that the owner doesn’t want and getting to know each other.

The big A-framed house in my photo faces the huge 3 stacks of the defunct PG&E plant. So as Mr. Fun commented on the fabulous view and asked the owner what she thought about the iconic stacks and the power plant being removed; she told Mr. Fun that she no longer lives in the house, she rents it to her sister, and she and her hubby now live in Cayucos. She told Mr. Fun about how dirty those stacks made the town, and how glad she is that that season is over. Those stacks are not iconic to her of anything good. That was a moment of getting to know our neighbors.

So what did we come home with? I got 10 cookie cutters (5 for a $1), and Mr. Fun got a free exercise machine. I passed-up a casserole dish that I wish I had purchased. I was also going to buy a big plastic tub with rope handles that normally costs $27.99 at Home Depot and the owner wanted $5. I missed getting the tub because I had to find Mr. Fun, who was wandering in a nearby yard, to ask if there was room in our car. When I got back, the tub was gone! Oh well.

We’ve enjoyed this Saturday.
Good night; God bless you,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
