Focus on the Fish
A day of two halves.
This morning was focussed on J's Aunty V, who has had a difficult few months.
This afternoon, a trip to the coast. A wonderful walk alongside the salt marshes and lagoons at Keyhaven, and the weather was kinder than the forecast had led us to expect.
We saw our first terns of the year yesterday walking from Friars Cliff to Mudeford Quay - sandwich terns, the largest terns to breed in the UK. And today we saw both common terns and little terns. This little tern was fishing very close to us, and seemed un-phased by out presence. And it was little - swallow like in its elegance, and no bigger than a starling, a beautiful bird. Watching terns fishing, focussing on the water as they hod a position in the air (even on a windy day like today) and then diving into the water to catch their prey, is always thrilling.
