Red Pike

We have now added Red Pike to our list of completed Wainwrights. 
I never used to understand people who said that coming down was worse than going up because of the strain on your knees.
I do now.
Anyway seven to go. We won’t get them done this week but we’ll be back! Might manage another walk before we go home.
The photo is from below the summit of Red Pike looking towards Great Gable,  Sca Fell and Scafell pike. 
Great Gable is one of my favourites because of the amazing views down the length of Wastwater,  and is the big dark brooding lump about a third  of the way in from the left side of the picture.
The views from Red Pike are spectacular.
A very nice lamb burger at Merienda this evening, having narrowly missed the kitchen at the Dog and Gun.
