Trees with attitude

Heavy rain showers were forecast again today so we opted to head to Chillingham castle and gardens.  Well, talk about a junk shop and a very dusty one it was too.  Really quirky but definitely not my kind of place.  So much stuff crammed inside without any clear thought of how to display it.

We then headed to Woolley with thoughts of afternoon tea.  Nothing doing, so we went back to Bamburgh.

We saw lots more woodland devastation wherever we went.  They won’t be short of firewood for a long time.  I’m also amazed at the lack of traffic everywhere, which makes being out on the roads rather pleasant.  Even turning right onto the single lane A1 seems odd,

We’re going to head up to the pub tonight to see if they can feed us.  If not it’ll be back here for fish pie.
