Today's the day ..................... for sax talk

How absolutely lovely to have a flying visit today from Claire (or Mrs Penally as we like to call her) and to catch up with all her news in person (see extra).  

Readers of her journal will know that she is a woman of many talents - not least being that she plays the saxophone in a band called Blast Furness.  So seeing as Will bought himself a new saxophone yesterday when he was in Glasgow, there was a fair amount of discussion about it - and saxophones in general.

Then, this evening we were treated to a masterclass performance in the Quarryman's Art Centre in Creetown, by the Scottish jazz saxophonist, composer and educator, Tommy Smith.  It really was a privilege to listen to him talk and play the instrument of which he is a supreme exponent .................
