Lily the Pink

Today's the day .................... for something special

So nice to see the Grumpy Old Man (or as we like to call him, Maurice) and Sheila this afternoon on their way westwards for a few days holiday.

Maurice, of course, is a very knowledgeable horticulturalist and botanist, having spent his working life looking after large gardens, open to the public.  So showing him round your own garden comes with a certain amount of trepidation!  But, on the plus side, he's very willing to share his expertise with you - and you can ask him every sort of question that you've been wanting to ask for ages - and he can, more than likely, give you the answer.  

As well as that, he brought me a present of something from his garden.  And as you might expect, it was something a bit special.  Not just your ordinary Lily of the valley (which I love) - but a pink form of it - Convallaria majalis var. rosea.

So thank you very much for that, Maurice and Sheila - it was really lovely to see you both ....................
