No (of)fence intended....

Got a phone call this morning from the police to say they were recovering a car that had gone through our hill fence. Everyone else was occupied cutting the blackie hill lambs today so it was left to muggins to do a temporary fix so the sheep wouldn't escape through the 25 yards of demolished fence.
Managed to fix a rylock net to a staining post further along , bypassing the strainer the car had also mangled. Took the easy option and after piercing holes for the stobs ,shoved them in with the tractor front loader , as if I start using a mell my back will just go ping again. Had it stock proof by lunch time. As I was finishing up ,a couple of bikers stopped to admire the view from the hill towards Edinburgh. Had a brief chat with them and pointed out a few landmarks such as Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh castle, the ski slope, the paps of Fife and the high rise flats of Kirkcaldy. Turns out they were out for drive from Dumfries. Certainly picked a nice day for it.
After lunch the Peeblesshire farmer we bought the bulling heifers from turned up to deliver them. Put them in a shed just now.
Then the next door neighbour and our herd managed to bring in one of his cows that was wandering around in one of our fields this morning. He went home and came back with his Landrover and trailer to take her home again.
The extra shows the fence after Id been at it. Don't think I'd get a job as a fencer, but it was functional !
