Laburnum

Since we moved here nearly twelve years ago we have planted a number of trees and shrubs. This year, many of them must have reached a key stage in their development as we have had some lovely displays of blossom as well as growth spurts. This laburnum will need to be pruned in the autumn as some of its branches have grown so long but it was its blossom today that I noticed most of all.
I spent quite a bit of time preparing the component parts for the Platinum Pudding competition winning recipe: lemon Swiss roll and amaretti trifle. It was very time-consuming so I hope it’s worth it when I take it to my friend’s party tomorrow.
