Seaton Delaval Hall
SUNDAY
We checked out of our accommodation at Wooperton Hall and headed off to Seaton Delaval Hall (National Trust). After a stop off at the Brewhouse cafe, we went on to explore the hall.
I thought that Cragside was a bizarre place but Seaton Delaval Hall is even quirkier. The hall is completing a £7.5 million restoration and most of the areas have now reopened. The hall is well worth a visit. The main blip is the laburnum arch in the grounds. The extras show the upside down room and the exterior of the hall.
A stop off at Seaton Sluice and then over to St Mary's Lighthouse for a walk over the causeway and more seal spotting.
We finished the afternoon at Valerie's Tearooms in Whitley Bay before saying our goodbyes to Harriet and George.
Home in time for the 10 pm Ocado delivery.
Another fabulous week with loved ones.
