Lazy daisy

This morning I put in a couple of hours of sorting in my studio. How can one person collect so much stuff - beach-combed pebbles and shells, bags of sand and sawdust, feathers, bits of fabric, odd pieces of paper and card, empty containers, the list is endless.

Then at 2:30 I changed out of my 'work' clothes into something smarter, applied a bit of make up, gathered my iPad and glasses, got in my car and drove to the library to do my volunteer digital buddy bit. It was raining when I got there so I got wet lifting the barrier to get into the staff car park and then it took three backward and forward manoeuvres to get into a space. I walked across to the library through the rain and had just signed in when one of the librarians came over to tell me my client wasn't coming as she was 'too busy'.

It took another three manoeuvres to get out of the car park, then I drove home, changed back into my work clothes and went back to the studio sorting. Almost an hour completely wasted. No small wonder no one wants to volunteer.
