A New Poppy

A few days ago I blipped a faded poppy that had bloomed while we were away on holiday. This morning, one of the buds had opened into this fabulous new bloom and I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss for a blip. The green and yellow background is a euonymus shrub. The petals of the other flower are now on the ground .. presumably the heavy overnight rain helped them on the way.

The ‘rescue’ cats are still quite shy, one of them makes occasional forays to the food bowl or water fountain, the other seems quite happy to stay inside a cardboard box :-)
