Roses in the Rain
It’s been mostly dry today with the odd shower. Now it is pouring down.
I made bread and scones this morning which passed a couple of hours.
I tried sitting outside this afternoon with a glass of cider and my notebook and pencil. I lasted 5 minutes as it was so windy. Frank tells me the high winds are a result of the extreme temperatures in other parts of the world and when the two weather fronts meet. He’s my geography teacher!
I thought I’d try writing a children's poem.

Apple Tree Fairy
I thought I saw a fairy
beneath the apple tree
her clothing was like gossamer
Her silken hair flowed free
her wings were fine as a may fly’s
and she sang in a voice so sweet
Of fairy things and moth’s wings
and she had such tiny feet.
I watched her for a while
in the light that was all dappled
guiding bees to pollenate
and give me those two apples
I hope I’ll see her again sometime
if only in my mind’s eye
and if I do I would bake for her
the teeniest apple pie
Goodnight and thank’s so much for all the comments, stars and hearts.
I really appreciate them all.
:-) X
Extra: My hair has faded slightly from the bright orange! Still getting used to it though :-D)) The condition feels good though from the henna.
