More Madrith

A relaxed start to the day with coffee and tostada in the cool interior of a place near the Museum of Fine Arts in Calle Alcalla. 


Then onto the Salamanca area, which we grew to be fond of when we used to come to Madrid to go to the Egyptian Embassy to apply for our visas for all our Cairo stays. Lunch in Oter - and I don't think it could have been 'oter' in Madrid today!  Lovely lunch of gazpacho with prawns and a shared steak tartare. This area always reminds me of the area in Sao Paulo, Jardim Paulista, and the streets of Alameda Lorena, Oscar Freire and Haddock Lobo. Ah, I do have a big soft spot for Sau Paulo.


A walk in the Retiro Park in the shade, with bottles of cold water and then back to the hostal for a rest.  We're now on Plaza Mayor, listening to excellent buskers and having calamares and tomato and onion salad.


Somehow or other, I've managed to go happily over my 10,000 steps. Very slow steps!
