5th Birthday Party!

Tomorrow is our twin grandchildrens fifth birthday so they had a party today. It was held at the Spelthorne Gymnastics gym where they have gymnastics lessons …when you hire it for a party up to 45 children age up to 9 can participate, they had only 22 which was enough! A wide variety of equipment is put out and they can also use the various trampolines and foam pit ( it’s a very professional outfit which produces GB and international champions). We helped with setting up a room for their tea afterwards, a spacious room which is also used as a dance studio. 
It was rainbow themed as per the balloons and they had a lovely rainbow birthday cake made by my daughter.

It all seemed to go well and as well as school friends they had two cousins, friends from their previous nursery and some from the  NCT Group who now go to different schools.

All very different from when I was five. I had not even started school! I don’t recall ever having a party for friends it was just family mostly much older cousins, aunts and uncles. I  did organise several parties in a local hall for my children sometimes fancy dress themed and usually managed to have just one party for both as their birthdays were only a month apart and only two years age difference. 

You do wonder what the future holds for those who are five now. Lots of dismal news in the papers and so many issues re global warming etc. but must be optimistic.
