Bistort ( Persicaria bistorta )

Day 19  of 30 days wild.

While I am basically feeling normal, cutting the grass has shown me that I am very definitely not back to normal.  I found the exercise positively exhausting.

The Bistort are past their best but I wasn't out and about when they were at their best so a bit of a ropey shot.  Bistort are members of the Polygonaceae.  It is edible and used to be used, in Cumbria at least, to make a sort of herb pudding.  In some areas, it is known as "Pudding Dock".  The Cumbrian name for it was Eastermagiants.
