Seeking the shade

It is another warm and sunny day - the well treed woodlands is the best place for a walk with Xena as there is plenty of shade. The forecast is for another very hot week, but there may be some light rain on the weekend. I really hope the weather gods keep the rain away on Sunday as we have a special family outing on that day and we do not want any rain!

London and most of England is being hit with major train and tube strikes over three days this week, workers have been advised to work from home. London really depends on their transport system and it is quite crippling and totally inconvenient when there is a major strike like this, especially when it is our summer and London is so busy with tourists.

I cannot believe that it is already mid summer (the summer solstice) tomorrow, it feels like our summer has just started - in fact the schools only break up for the summer holidays in the 3rd week of July. I hate the thought of the days getting shorter again, at the moment we enjoy such long days with sunrise at 04.45hrs and sunset at 21.20hrs
