Into the blue

The Ards Man is now part of a small fleet of four boats, being blown hither and yon around the Clyde waterways. The photo looks like the approach to the Kyles of Bute.

They used to have a racing week in May/June, but that has now matured into a sociable sailing group rather than a competitive one. Today they moored before going ashore by dingy to avail of a very pleasant hostelry for lunch.

The weather hasn’t been fabulous for the ‘fleet’ but at least there has been wind! Whenever we sail across the North Channel using mostly wind power it does make us feel good. Even if we have to motor for a while, the engine on the boat doesn’t use that much fuel, so it’s a very economical way to travel!

The AM’s boat is the second right in the photo, so my thanks to whoever the photographer was in the fourth yacht.
