Family Outings
The summer is pretty much upon us now and the Hoopoes are starting to show their fledglings how to find bugs in our lawn. They will be departing soon for their southern migration. There were actually 2 parents and 3 chicks, but couldn’t get them all into a single pic. Extras are of the storks gathering to migrate after they have fledged. Here a family of 4 was hanging around the low marshy areas near us to feed up. Other extra is of one of the hoopoe chicks running after Mum (or Dad) to be fed. The parent obliged regularly.
