Wednesday: Deep Bed 1 - Update

Heavy rain all morning - I’d put washing on the line … it dried later when the sun came out!
Potted on 5 more large tomato plants, seeds from Seed Swap, total of 6 in greenhouse now, with twice as many smaller spare plants, I have a plan …!
In new deep bed behind greenhouse everything is growing incredibly well -

Picked some of the Brocolli "Hungry Gap" which has done very well considering the erratic weather: searing heat, lack of water then torrential rain during last few days - picked a few heads and cooked them with frozen broad beans and peas, MrD liked them too.
Kale "Red Russian" is such a beautiful vegetable and grows all the year round, flowers loved by the pollinators then self-seeding happily everywhere!
Phacellia is taking a long time to flower ...
Raspberries are ripening well considering weather so changeable, picking a handful a day - MrD enjoying them and blackbirds helping themselves too :-))
The rain has certainly come at a good time for the apple trees, thank goodness.
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
