Crossapol bay, Coll

The best of summer Hebridean weather continues to please us - hurrah!

We arrived on Coll in brilliant sunshine this morning. Our bed and breakfast is minutes from the pier, so very soon after we disembarked the ferry we were able to check into our accommodation and drop off our bags. Then we set off to 'town' to find some lunch (outside) at the Island Café.

The beach du jour today is Crossapol bay at the southerly end of the island. Here we spent the afternoon sunbathing and reading.

This evening we ate at our bed and breakfast. The meal will be memorable for my wonderful langoustines, and Mr hazelh's chokka blokka mokka floatie. The latter comprises Williams Brothers' mocha stout topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a flake - delicious!

The first extra is a shot of An Turas. This 'building, landmark, artwork and symbol' is next to the ferry terminal on Tiree. The second is of the main street of Arinagour, the capital of Coll.

Poor Mr hazelh's toothache endures. We have a good stock of painkillers from the co-op on Tiree, which should see him through to Tuesday.

Exercise today: cycling (21 miles); walking (6945 steps).
