Fun Friday!
Year 9 hosted a summer fete-type event at lunchtime today, in aid of two young persons' charities. I couldn't believe how much work they’d put into it - there was everything from lucky dips and raffles to hook-a-duck and guess the teddy's name (hopefully, it's 'Bob'). Students who'd visited the face painting stands were all glitter and sequins and there was fresh candy floss, lemonade and milkshakes. It was absolutely amazing!
At the coconut shy I joked that I was going to name the coconuts after students then unfortunately knocked four off with one tennis ball, which prompted much speculation as to which students they actually were! The highlight for me was supposed to be when I got my own back on three teachers who constantly make me laugh by trying to play pranks on me, by throwing wet sponges at their faces. I chickened out but paid some students to do it for me - job done!
The very best bit of the day, though, was that I was made a firm offer of a permanent position next year... which I accepted!
