Cleckheaton Library
FRIDAY
This morning I drove ten miles over to Cleckheaton Library to browse the local newspaper archives. It was slow work using the microfiche reader, but I found the 1948 entry of my Mum and Dad's wedding (see extra) which provided me with some new and interesting facts.
The grade II library building holds a lot of memories. In the 1960s I was a regular visitor to the children's library. More recently, until retirement I was the facilities manager for all the Kirklees library buildings and had to deal with building related issues.
A local walk in Greetland this afternoon before the heavens opened.
