Home grown supper

Caesar salad with delightful crisp cos lettuce and baby broad beans from the garden. I have never managed to grow lettuce successfully before. I think it needs paying attention to, with water and growing in the greenhouse to start them off.
These ones are weighing in at around 450g which I think is remarkable!
The broad beans are lovely, but pollination seems patchy with most of the pods only having around half the number of beans they should. I saw the bumblebees on them, so perhaps they are missing a particular species of bee.
The bread for the croutons was made by Rob of course, and I used a freshly harvested garlic too.
I don’t think we will ever be self sufficient, but it’s still worth the effort.
