Avian Influenza Continues
A mixed day of wind, showers and sunshine. Tonight is winter, windy and raining! Think summer is skipping us this year!
After a great night out, it's been followed by a very lazy morning, which I didn't see much of. I finally got out and about, peerie Brian ran me into Lerwick to fetch my car, and lunch at Magno's. Met up with friend Julie in the afternoon, and we popped down to the Sunday Teas at Bigton Hall, followed by a beach walk. Working in the shop this evening, and a busy night. Not much of a night, so feet up and telly on.
The beach walk was much needed today, it fairly cleared the head. Sadly we have to be careful taking the dogs along the beaches just now, with the avian bird flu still rife in our wild bird populations. I don't think there's an area of Shetland that doesn't have a dead bird washed up on it's shores, so sad to see. This is another dead Solan (gannet), which have been really badly with the flu, same as the bonxies (great skua). Julie and Keba avoiding the bird, Quendale beach.
