Hampton court flowers…again!

I decided to pay a quick visit to Hampton Court to check on the Superbloom flowers. I previously visited on 9 th and 18 th June..see previous blips. On the two previous occasions there was a variety of brightly coloured flowers in full bloom so today the display was somewhat disappointing in comparison! There were however lots of bees buzzing around so lots of good pollinator plants. I think the dry weather has not helped and I’m guessing this is what the Tower of London Superbloom also looks like now.

The Hampton Court Flower Show started yesterday and there lots of people coming and going to that plus numerous boats bringing people too. They were charging £3.50 each way for a boat ride between Hampton Court Station on one side of the river to outside Hampton Court Palace on the other side…rather a rip off as it probably takes longer getting on/off the boat than it would to walk! Also as in previous years there is a temporary footbridge over the road to the car parks but…..they have put barriers to stop people going across the zebra crossing (crazy) so I saw several people with big trolleys they had bought with plants not able to go up the steps and so were dodging the traffic and what about people with mobility issues and cyclists like me who usually go across to join the cycle lane……. all very odd?
I have decided not to go to the Flower Show this year as it is so so crowded you can not see the show gardens very well so I will watch the TV highlights instead.

Now to watch some tennis and hope  Norrie  can win
