Oswald’s Bridge

Very impressed with the bus service from Ayr to Glasgow. We left the bus station at 4.55 and I was back home by 6.15 having got off at Central Station and then straight on to a local train. Another recce which went a bit off course which added to the fun but means I’ll have to do it again, pretty soon so I can offer it as a Ramblers walk next month.
After creating a path through fields and overgrown riverbank, because we decided the other side of the river looked more interesting, we ended up more or less in the right place at Oswald’s Bridge near the old agricultural college at Auchencruive. An added attraction were the stepping stones, extra, almost on the wrong side exciting because the river was quite gushy in that spot. We exchanged conversation with three delightful teenage lads who were planning a swim and skipped over the stones in jig time.
