Birthday Boy

Mike is 68 today; here's the verses I read to him this morning from my Bible:

Seize life! Eat bread with gusto,
Drink wine with a robust heart.
Oh yes—God takes pleasure in your pleasure!
Dress festively every morning.
Don’t skimp on colors and scarves.
Relish life with the spouse you love
Each and every day of your precarious life.
Each day is God’s gift. It’s all you get in exchange
For the hard work of staying alive.
Make the most of each one!

Mostly we shopped for tools and supplies at various places, and made a start on a few jobs, but tonight we celebrated with BDM, see extra. Julia made an amazing brownie, red fruits, and ice-cream tower for the cake, at which point the rest of the family joined in via FaceTime to sing Happy Birthday in Portuguese and English.

Gratefuls:
- Mike, glad I've had him as my best friend for this long
- being with family for his birthday, and BDM, who is a great friend to Ju and Tom
- a bacon and egg barm from a trailer in the B&Q carpark for lunch, and sharing a cup of tea with a homeless guy who looked in a bad way, poor guy
