This Beautiful Small Island We Live On

This morning we packed up the cottage ready to leave this afternoon and headed to Warkworth. We had a wander around the castle which was so interesting, it’s mainly ruins but there’s enough standing that with a little imagination (and help of a few picture boards) you can really get a feel for what it used to be like.

After a wander around the village and lunch in a courtyard cafe that was so warm and sunny, you could believe you were in the Mediterranean, we headed back along the river to the car.

We all headed home this evening, it was such a nice trip, two years in the planning and it definitely goes to show how there are some truly beautiful parts to this small island we live on.
