Stained glass
Sunday June 26
Our mission group that went to Kentucky earlier in the month, were doing a short audio visual presentation in church this morning, so we had to get to church early to speak with the young lady who was running the audio visual this morning, to make sure she had our photos OK. The sound board is up in the balcony, where I very rarely go, so I took the opportunity to blip one of the stained glass windows up there - the Parables window, showing the parable of the Sower, and the parable of the Loaves and the fishes. Our leader was on vacation with her family, so Roger and Dale both spoke. Afterwards we had a church lunch and a congregational meeting, where the pastors spoke to us about the current state of debate on human sexuality in the United Methodist church, which sees churches deeply divided. The General Conference usually meets every four years, and was due to meet in 2020, but didn’t due to Covid, and will not now take place until 2024. The fear is that it will lead to a schism in the UMC between the traditional churches, particularly in the South, and more progressive churches. So much prayer is needed between now and 2024!
After the lunch and meeting, we went cycling on the Little Miami trail.
Step count: 6,106
Cycling: 1 hour 29 minutes
