River Spey
After a good buffet breakfast in the hotel, we set off on our next walk. We headed ten minutes drive along to Grantown on Spey, and did a walk from there on the Speyside Way. It was very hot, and we took our time, but had a lovely day. I have blipped the river, which is such a lovely river.
The hotel gave us free tickets for the Strathspey Steam Train, which is run by volunteers, and we decided after the walk to have a ride. Sadly, because of lack of coal (a long story) it was not a steam train, but it was a lovely ride into Aviemore. Five of us took the train, and Linda, who had done it recently with her grandchildren, drove into Aviemore to pick us up.
After a wee look around (Aviemore was jumping, I was glad we were not based there) we headed back for a lovely dinner, some more wine, and more quizzes.
