A walk on the wild side

They really need to trim the hedgerows on the canal.

Today was TSM’s longest outing yet - a walk up to the coffee boat. We managed to get a couple of seats under an umbrella as it was really hot. Apparently there is worse to come with temperatures up to 37 degrees in the next two days. Everyone is talking about it in that tabloid newspaper slightly hysterical way that we naked apes are so good at. But the truth is, it’s only set to last three days.

We watched a new Netflix production of Persuasion in the afternoon. I really liked it although the critics weren’t so kind. Dakota Johnson played the lead really well I thought, as a 20th century sassy heroine transplanted to regency England (not literally but there is lots of deliberately placed modern idiom). 

Didn’t venture back into the garden until sundown, which in these parts means when the timber yard gets in the way of the daylight at about seven-thirty.

Not a bad day.
