One day at a time

Dry

I wanted to try to find something that spoke of dryness. We have had hardly any rain in July and with hot temperatures yesterday (38.1C/100.6F) I thought I would like to find something in the garden that was dry.
In my photo the ground is dark. We had 1.3mm of rain overnight, it is much welcome. But this [with be advised of the name by the Head Gardener later]  looks appropriate for the theme.
It is also much cooler today so a trip to the nearest town, Hexham, 12 miles away, for errands is now on.
** I have been informed by the Head Gardener that the dry flower seed head is an allium, the green plant behind is an ice plant or sedum, and the dried up seed head bottom right is a honey garlic. So there!
