Wound up in Wexford

Cranky quilt update

It's coming along.  The six full strips seen here will be separated by spacers, and there's one final strip of stretched stars to make and sew together.  I may have time to continue pottering, and finish this strip - but things are moving inching forward* on the conveyancing front.  I certainly don't intend to try to piece the entire quilt together before we go - I'll roll the strips up and store them until my sewing room in Ireland is set up.  It's going to be quite a big quilt - not sure what I'll do with it when it's finished.

W has had to sit around all day waiting (in vain) on a phone call from the Bank of Ireland.  He's trying to open a non-resident account, but this has to be done with a special team, and they have to phone him at their convenience to fill in the paperwork - they tell us they are very busy, and decline to offer any certainty about when they will phone.  This has resulted in a frustrating time on Friday, and again today, waiting on the phone call that never comes!  He can't go out, as he will need to be near the computer when they finally do phone.

* A certificate from the electrician who fitted the solar panels, that no-one had told us was missing until Friday, has been applied for, obtained and sent off to our conveyancer.  But the owners of the attached semi have decided they aren't going to sign the RX from without consulting their lawyers - sigh.  Yet more lawyers making money from this process, and yet more delay!
