Wound up in Wexford

Agapanthus Boleyn blue

A rather lovely delicate pale blue - it's actually more blue than this photo brings out.

One of several that are looking good in the pond bed this summer.  Unlike most of the rest of the garden, which looks neglected and brown.  Partly because of the weather, partly because it actually has been neglected.  We've lost all impetus for caring for the garden - which would, in any case, have been a challenge in the current dry weather conditions.  It rained last night - with no obvious benefit to the garden.  At least it is much cooler today, but with no prospect of rain in the forecast before next weekend.

It is now more than 7 months since we accepted the first offer on our house, and we STILL have no date for moving.  When we do move, we will move into rental accommodation, we'll just be glad to get this sale over the line.  In contrast, my younger daughter in Sweden has quite spontaneously (only last week, when I asked if she might be looking for a house soon, she said "but we've not even been in this flat for a year") decided to move from a flat into a house, they put a bid in on a house on Sunday, and today it looks as if it has been successful, so she will now look for a buyer for her flat, and expects to be moved in to the new house within 3 months!!

At least today saw progress in W getting a bank account - Bank of Ireland did (finally) ring back; the first phone call seemed disappointing, but was rapidly followed by a second which largely finished the process of application.

And we spent some time in the pantry, deciding which foods to try to eat in the next few weeks, which are ok to be put into storage, and which should just be thrown out.
