Preparation

There was an exceptionally early traipse to the physiotherapist for a progress report and some extra exercises for the ankle. He told me I was ahead of the game in recovery and gave some latex bands to play with after asking me if I was allergic to latex. I did wonder at the connotations of that question but played safe as the innocent old lady I might appear. In the absence of a second person in the equation at home, I will have to attach the bands to some thing solid like a radiator and let my ankle do the playing.

I returned to an empty house as resident Porty daughter is taking her daughter and husband to revisit my granddaughter’s alma mater at Stirling University before driving to show George Loch Lomond. It feels strange, even after such a short time of having her staying with me , to have the place to myself again for a few hours.

I did some heavy pruning of the vine outside the dining room window, the cotoneaster running along the patio  step and the hydrangea outside the west wing  before clearing up and sweeping the patio just in time for an enormous platform lift machine to appear outside the house to remove loose cladding from the underneath of the  balcony 3 floors above me. This left the patio covered with bits of wooden boarding. However the men were good and swept it up themselves.

I’ve just had a message to say that resident daughter will be back in 30minutes- better crack on………

This blip is the preparation going on in George Square for the Underbelly Fringe shenanigans
