French beans

After a long wait, I'm finally harvesting French beans.

It's the second year the bean crop has been disappointing, despite all my efforts enriching the soil early on and doing several sowings.

Slugs early in the season, and muntjacs later, are always a setback.

It's nice to get a harvest at least but the bean tunnel is far from covered in green foliage. I keep hoping one year it'll look really lush but maybe I need to try something different next growing season...
