Amandine's Plot Treize

Red sweet peas

I've had the most epic fail with sweet peas this year - everything (slugs, dry weather, muntjacs) seems to have been against me.

So it's nice to finally have too many sweet peas to harvest even though the OCD me is not impressed they're not filling all the areas I had in mind for them. Also I'm not sure how I've ended up with red sweet peas when I only sowed blue, white and pink/purple seeds.

At this stage in the growing season, I'm trying to let go of control. Some plants have gone over, some crops been harvested which means gaps etc.

I'm already looking to the months ahead, thinking about pumpkins and autumn green manure. It's hard to just live in the moment as a gardener, you always need to anticipate what the next weeks or months will throw at you!
