Victoria

We took the train to Birmingham this morning.   The areas of Victoria Square and Centenary Square were buzzing with the crowds drawn into town by the Commonwealth Games.  We met Sam by the "Floozy in the Jacuzzi" and went to look at the bull in Centenary Square.  I've added a collage of pics, a lot of bull, in the extras.  An amazing work of mechanics which deserves a permanent place in the square.  

My main photo is of an art installation in Victoria Square by the Guyanese-British artist Hew Locke.  It is a re-imaging of the existing statue of Queen Victoria by adding the boat and other passengers.  I was quite taken by it.

We all had a good time and took lots of photos then retreated to Pret A Manger for coffee and salad.
