The Horse Boy
Though the start was three.
A special place for riding,
radiating calm.
Is it boring that I seem to start with a run down of my night’s sleep?! It was a bad one. Ben decided he couldn’t go back to sleep after 3. He was then completely wrecked by 6:30 and grumpy that I wouldn’t let him go back to bed whilst I made his breakfast :-/ In the end we both went back to bed and breakfast was put on hold. It was a bit rubbish though, we usually eat breakfast as a family and talk about the day or read the news, do a quiz etc.. it’s a good bit of the day but by the time Ben and I were up and about Mr KCNQ2Haiku had already had breakfast and started work. It was his first day back after holiday too, so that made everything even more “Monday-ish”. Anyway, the day did eventually get going, few bitty jobs this morning (always hard to perform around Ben who likes to be the centre of attention) and then after lunch we drove out to a lovely place called Making Momentum in Cheshire where an old friend of mine from University has set up a beautiful sort of equine therapy/arts centre for people with additional needs. It’s based on Rupert Isaacson’s Horse Boy method which is, in particular, amazing for children with autism. So that was a really lovely afternoon, Ben was so happy and confident - the picture shows him on the horse playing a game of Polo Cross and generally loving life :-D Let’s hope we all sleep tonight!!
