KID MEETS KID
Last night was Downtown Night in the little Village of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. There's only 1,100 and change full time residents but they know how to party.
~
On Road America weekends the population can swell to many thousands who visit the first-class restaurants located here. It's a resort town....the local high school even has a mascot known as the Resorter.

On a nice August evening there's Downtown Night which is basically a food fest. All the merchants in the village set up booths "downtown" and the village swells with visitors looking for a fun time.

If you leave hungry from this place you just weren't trying. And lots of activities to keep the kids occupied while mom and dad fill their bellies with food and adult beverages.
~
In addition there was a petting zoo, pony rides, dance band, dessert booth, rootbeer float booth, "fishing" for prizes for the little ones; lots of other games including putting and beanbag throwing for prizes and toss the pingpong ball into a jar and win a goldfish. So much more I can't remember it all.
~
I was on assignment making a few photos for the local papers.
~
EXTRAS: (1) Preparing ears of corn to be placed in the corn roaster; (2) a youngster sharing a hot dog (the locals call them tube steaks) with her mother; (3) some of the high school girls paint small flowers, etc. on faces of enthusiastic kids; (4) there's even rock climbing for anyone who wants to try it; (5) part of the crowd enjoying the band and the food.
